Current Work

In my current work I use a variety of media to explore "Spirit of Place" (Genius Loci) through a series of multi-image portraits of special places.

I have been exploring printmaking (lithography, intaglio, and relief methods) to produce multiple print pieces since 2022.

Since 1968 I  have used plein-air drawing to capture the unique character of place; around home and when traveling.

Studio drawings and renderings have been primary passions of mine since my days at the NC State School of Design in the 1960s. 

Painting in various mediums has been a part of my practice of mark-making for over 55 years and I still discover new formats and techniques.

Illustration is the visual art dimension of storytelling and puts the saying "a picture is worth a thousand words" to the test.

Sculpture as three-dimensional non-architecture  (Mother of the Arts) works produces 3D art using varied materials and scales.
