Drawing has been a consistent art practice throughout the decades since I studied at the School of Design at NC State University. During my architectural career, drawing was a foundational aspect of my design work.
Painting has been an art practice in focused periods - at the School of Design, during a year working as an architect in Europe (acrylics on canvas); renderings (pen & ink with airbrushed acrylic and watercolor) for architecture; and more recently travel sketches (pen & ink with watercolor).

While living and working as an architect in Switzerland in 1973 I completed a series of acrylic paintings on canvas. Some of these were single abstract compositions on canvas stretched on frames, while several were un-stretched tapestry-like pieces inspired by the landscape of the Swiss Jura.
