Official - Historical Coloring Book for the 400th Anniversary of the Roanoke Voyages

This commemorative and educational coloring book for kids was licensed after Wes designed the Visitor Center for the Elizabeth II State Historic Site, also commemorating the 400th Anniversary of the Roanoke Voyages.

Adventures on Pepi's Island

The Pepi's Island project produced a suite of five interactive Apps for iPad and Android tablets, to teach kids social-emotional skills.

Design Manual for Cape Hatteras National Seashore

This was a breakthrough project for the National Park Service and led to a number of other commissions on the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

      CAPE HATTERAS NATIONAL SEASHORE DESIGN MANUAL - PROJECT DATA

      • The Design Manual (240 Pages) provided guidelines for projects designed within the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, largely using illustrations - drawings, diagrams, sketches,  and other infographics
      • Analyzed the Design Context: Natural Systems, Climate & Storms, and Outer Banks Architectural precedents
      • Established Design Guidelines: Design Process; Design Dimensions; and Relationships
      • Reference Material included Plant Materials; Climatological Data; Design Checklists, and a Bibliography
      • Collaborative effort of a multi-disciplinary team led by Wes McClure, AIA and James Turk, ASLA, Principals of MTMA Design Group
      • Architectural illustrations by Wes McClure; landscape illustrations by James B. Carpenter and James Turk; hand lettering by Nancy Rand

      Adventures on Pepi's island - A Suite of Digital Tablet Apps for Social-Emotional Learning

        ADVENTURES ON PEPI'S ISLAND SUITE OF APPS - Project Data

        • Interactive game-based curriculum for Social-Emotional Learning (SEL); for elementary age children, working with a parent or other adult mentor, using digital tablets
        • Set on the imaginary Pepi's Island and hosted by Pepi, the Savvy Parrot character
        • Project included app designs and illustration of all app elements: settings, characters, buttons, maps and other extensive content
        • Curriculum structure: Four Adventures correlated with specific Social-Emotional Domains
        • Child Player earned Points, Treasure, and Badges for progress
        • Suite included a fifth app: Pepi Assessment of Social Skills (PASS) to assess skill needs

          • Binky, a tiny elf superhero rescues Christmas by making an epic journey to the North Pole to use his superpowers (listening to nature and communicating with birds and animals), as well as science, to heal Santa's sick reindeer so they can fly their annual Christmas mission.
